Review of A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014) by Nick K — 10 Nov 2015
This film, though suitably dark and complex in parts, felt underwhelming. I got the impression that it was trying too much to be In The Heat Of The Night, when it should have been closer to Seven.
If director Scott Frank had not been so obsessed with the script's Bogart pretensions, then it would have made for a far more satisfying Neo-noir. Plus the obnoxious kid very quickly became annoying.
Worth a look but not worth going out of your way for.
