Review of A View to a Kill (1985) by Drew H — 28 Jan 2008
Unlike Sean Connery where he was getting tired of the roll towards the end I can really tell that Roger Moore was sad to leave this roll. He showed his age but it looked like a bittersweet moment for Roger.
For me this will always be my favorite James Bond not for the story but because of the theme song by Duran Duran and also for being introduced to James Bond as a kid. I realiaze a lot of people don't care for this movie but if it wasn't for AVTAK I wouldn't be a fan today.
I really enjoy the Roger Moore era the best..without question this beats the Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan era by only small margins. Is this the best Bond movie? No..but it was fun seeing the Eifel Tower and The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco but sad because Lois Maxwell left the franchise as well.
There will never be another Miss MoneyPenny just like there will never be another Q like Desmond even though I do enjoy John Cleese in Brosnan era after Desmond died... now my ratings are this..A View To A Kill, For Your Eyes Only, Moonraker, The Spy Who Loved Me.
.Diamonds are Forever, , Live and Let Die, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, The Man With The Golden Gun, Octopussy, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Goldfinger, Dr. No and From Russia With Love.. no more Mr.
Moore so next will be Timothy Dalton.. in.. The Living Daylights.
