Review of A View to a Kill (1985) by Derek J — 28 Mar 2008
Ugh. No. I think maybe the only redeeming thing about this movie is the fact that Christopher Walken is a Bond villian. Come on, Walken as a Bond villain! I can repeat that all friggin day. So, here we have a 007 as a senior citizen and a Bond girl as a dumb, vacuous know nothing. But, I say again, Walken as the villain. This film got a star for that alone. The plot of this film is very much a ripoff of Goldfinger but done very half assed. Maybe the only piece of memorable action involves Bond vs Walken, at the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. Oh, and Walken's got a fire axe. But, here I say this movie is a piss poor Bond flick. Moore should have retired with some dignity in Octopussy.
Peace!
