Review of A View to a Kill (1985) by Paul W — 10 Apr 2008
AVTAK gets a C+. First, the good: Christopher Walken's awesomeness as a villain. That alone saves this one from the clutches of a whinny, not-that-hot, troublesome female and the fact that Moore is pretty darn old. No supercar, but a pretty cool theme song by Duran Duran (yes, I know, but I was born in '72). This is also the one that begins with a ski chase in the Arctic where Bond escapes to a submarine (badly) disguised as an ice-berg, driven by a hot babe, with a swinging love sofa-turned-bed (akin to what one would expect from a '77 Econoline Custom Van). Oh! James! indeed!
This one goes down as the third worst Bond ever, just beating out Thunderball, but well surpassed in suckiness by Moonraker.
