Review of A View to a Kill (1985) by Senor C — 27 Jun 2011
A lot of people criticise this film, and only look at the surface of it, if you deeply analyse and look it with the criteria of Bond standards and screenplay effectiveness one can enjoy this film. 1) Moore maybe having to work hard on his appearance by this stage, but who doesn't at any age, he is still a terrific actor especially in this film.
2) Yes many stunt men are used but that can only add to the effectiveness of the film? 3) You can take Stacy two way's, A she is winey stupid girl who is in Bond's way. Or you can say she is a sophisticated Bond girl and a qualified to help bond, just that she is not action/ street smart when it comes to fighting so is not so helpful in that department.
I agree with the second and does live up to a good bond girl. The Plot is interesting and fast pasting and has a great ending with zorin (who is more of a nut job that evil) trying to kill bond with an axe! Overall a interesting film, keeps you awake and has some terrific acting and fighting.
oh and has all the required Bond criteria! = 80%.
