A United Kingdom is a well crafted period piece about a real life story most people are unaware of. The solid acting of Oyelowo and Pike and their chemistry are the centerpiece of this film and while their love story is the main plot, the movie manages to shed light on the racism and politics that plagued that time.
A few dull moments can be overlooked when the source material is as intense and important.
