Review of A United Kingdom (2016) by Simon V — 16 Mar 2017
A scintillating look at a shameful moment for British imperial history - and a triumph for the country of Botswana, and its two leading citizens. Should be compulsory viewing for all students of African history - and anyone who enjoys a great underdog story.
Superbly acted by the two lead actors, and with a solid supporting cast, the script is razor sharp, but the backdrop is the real winner, with superb cinematography highlighting the vast southern African vistas.
