Movies have always emphasized a captivating title to reel in an audience and create a high expectation, which unfortunately, usually leads to the audience's ultimate disappointment. For example, "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Sounds badass, right? So, you buy your kids their $9.50 stale yet oddly satisfying popcorn, you sit down in a sticky seat, and are met with a generic montage of CGI and a plot we've seen a hundred times. Terrible!

Now, this is where A Talking Cat!?! steps up to the plate, and sets the bar for all of its box office competitors. You step into your local Block Bus- You log in to your Amazon Prime account, and you find this movie. You read the title, and what're you expecting? You know just what you're expecting. There's no surprises here... Except, actually, there is! That's the game changer. This movie, although a simplistic concept, manages to throw the audience an array of curveballs that are impossible to predict. Would you expect a female representative of the youth programming community to fall in love with an elderly man, searching for his true love following his career? Would you expect a beautiful, ahead-of-its-time narrative highlighting a serendipitous homosexual relationship? Yeah, I know. But they're both in this movie, and I could not have enjoyed the character development and underlying meanings that this movie provided. Also, if that's not enough for you, the cat on the poster is NOT the same in the movie. So, if you're a little more on the prejudice side of morbidly obese cats, maybe just stick around and admire the poster for awhile, and watch "A Talking Pony!?!" instead.
