Review of A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) by M A S — 07 Jul 2010
Best K-Horror Psychological Thriller to date. Where other Korean horrors have failed by trying to hard to copy Japan's cinematic flair, this movie brings Korea's own style to the table. Not as stop and go as a lot of Japanese horrors.
A Tale of Two Sisters convey's mood through vibrant color, awkward silences, and skin crawling suspense. It's a bit difficult at first to catch on to some of the more subtle hints as to what's really going on but the closer it gets to the end the more things start to make sense.
Even though it seems as if they tried to wrap things up nicely at the end there are quite a few questions left unanswered and I'm not entirely certain it was purposeful. Either way it gives the moviegoer a lot to mull over as the credits roll.
