Review of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) by Gabe A — 28 Oct 2008
Of the four Oscar-nominated acting performances from this movie, it just happened to be Brando who lost. HUH?? That said, this is a classic Hollywood film, and Brando is electric in it. Some great dialogue (it's Tennessee Williams, c'mon!), though it is interesting to note the changes made (Blanche's gay husband) for a more moral time.
