Review of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) by Erin D — 25 Nov 2008
[font=Arial Narrow] The film, A Streetcar Named Desire is an amazing look into the mind of a self absorbed woman, escaping the real world through her inner fantasies. Vivian Leigh stars as Blanche Dubois giving us a terrific performance of a dissilussioned young woman escaping the world she left behind.
Marlon Brando also stars in this flick as Stanley, a brute, tough guy who is what would I call the antagonist of the film. The relationship between Blanche and Stanley is what really makes the film a winner.
There is much emotianal importance to be seen in this film and the acting really lets us see the story as it should be. This film incorparates a great story with moving performances from the cast. I would say however that the performaces is what really made this such a great film.
