Review of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) by Michael N — 11 Feb 2009
I say this without hesitating. Marlon Brando's performance in this film is the best performance ever put on screen. He is on a level that very few actors have ever even sniffed. The film is great too, but the performance outshines it.
The biggest Oscar snub in the history is Brando losing Best Actor to Bogart in 1951. This performance will live on forever. All actors should study this film and the performance within it.
