Brando's gutteral performance in Streetcar signaled an age of realism in acting known as 'the Method'. All credit to his genius, but ironically, I think it is the presicion of Vivian Leigh's classically studied portrayal of psychosis that remains the anchor of this film's visceral appeal and emotional resonance.
This film is a masterpiece.
