Review of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) by Michael R — 27 Mar 2010
Streetcar is just one of those American classics that any true lover of movies should experience. It was the first film to take home three Oscars for acting, and deservedly so. Believe it or not, Marlon Brandon was not even one of the three, though he was nominated.
Brando is on fire in this one! It's a flim dealing with lust, repression, illusion, and reality in a way that only Tennessee Williams could have written and all set to fine music score that gives you a sense of New Orleans.
