My God, this movie was intense for a classic. I got to see it on the big screen which was an opprtunity I couldn't let slide. It only inhanced the viewing of this bizarre film noir. The "storytelling" is subtle yet intense in the character's, and you can really see it in their emotions.

It lets you infer what the character's struggles really are, especially Vivien Leigh who was just brilliant. Sharp and sort of snobby, then wild and psychotic. It was a sure fire performance that had me quoting some of the memorable lines she uttered.

And Marlon Brando was just plain ruthless here. Not even recognizable as Don Vito from the Godfather. This time he plays a troubled husband with a drinking problem and can control the volume of his voice.

Brando's screams really echo in your ear as he yells up to his wife, "Hey Stella!" Now at first I found the story rather hard to follow, but eventually you grow to get wrapped up in the character's actions and can just start to foreshadow what will happen next.

..right up to the chilling end. This is a classic I would recommend toany classics fan, and even movie fans alike who just like to see GREAT acting.
