Review of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) by John H — 11 Jan 2011
Keeps most of the original Broadway team- Brando, Kim Hunter, Karl Malden, writer Williams, director Kazan- while keeping it fresh with a new Blanche in a perfectly cast Vivien Leigh. The result is a masterful of theatrical and cinematic elements, with the contrast between Brando and Leigh in both characters and acting styles wonderful (and harrowing) to watch.
