Review of A Street Cat Named Bob (2016) by Luke A — 12 Nov 2016

I feel like I should review this one because its not getting as much recognition as I think it deserves. The amount of times I go pass Covent Garden I probably saw James Bowen although I wouldn't of recognized him, its because of one amazing cat that changed how people saw him.

A Street Cat Named Bob may touch on elements of hardship or homelessness, drug addiction and serious struggles in life but it's also a heart warming tale that only people with a serious hate towards felines will not find enjoyable.

I was sceptical about this film, and with its release date so close to Oscar potential Arrival and Massive Blockbuster Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, I didn't even think many would see it.

I'm so glad I did, this film came at just the right time, its actually amazing how a cat completely changed James Bowen's life, played beautifully by Luke Treadway who was very dedicated towards this film.

The star of film is the most unlikely cat Bob who strangely enough is the best act in this film. That's not because of any poor acting, its simply because Bob is a one in a million, he's even had time with the Duchess of Cambridge and it's not at all surprising after seeing this.

Its not a thrilling or dramatic story, its much more down to Earth, it's simple and that's why it works. The closest thing I can compare this too is Inside Llewyn Davis which is great for completely different reasons.

You only need to be human to find enjoyment here to which there is lots but much more emotional moments rather than fun, you might even feel more sympathetic and caring afterward. It might sound crazy but do yourself a favour and see this one.
