Review of A Star Is Born (2018) by Martin I — 12 Oct 2018
Cooper and Gaga deliver powerful performances. Their live musical performances made this feel raw and emotional. The music is wonderful and I find myself wanting more country from Gaga. The cinematography here is arguably the best of the year.
That all said, Gaga's character's development is lacking in my opinion, hence my rating. I see more of a focus on Cooper's character's internal struggle , and felt there was room for examination on Gaga's considering the title of the film.
Still, I found this to be a moving film and one that is easily re-watchable. Also Sam Elliot can grow a freakin' mustache y'all.
