Review of A Star Is Born (2018) by Kathryn W — 15 Oct 2018
This is a roundly passionate, superbly acted film that transcends all other versions of this story by far. It's a moving profile of two very talented people who fall in love, struggle with stardom, addiction, career rise and fall and their connection is electric throughout.
The movie goes deep. The characters are real and touching. The songs get stuck in your head the way a good song should. It's a profound piece of cinema for sure. Bradley Cooper's directorial debut is so much more than anyone could have expected.
Run, don't walk to see this film. Your first time won't be your last.
