Review of A Star Is Born (2018) by Marissa D — 06 Oct 2018
I hadn't seen any previous iterations of the film, so I went in with an entirely clean slate. And I anticipated Lady Gaga's talent, but Bradley Cooper did something I'd never seen before from him as an actor.
He was heartbreaking, funny, dark, complex, and so much more. His direction only added to the overall emotion, and Gaga's final minutes left me speechless and in tears. It's an easy best to say this will be a heavy hitter, if not the one to beat, this award season, but not in the "this film was tailor made for award season" way.
It deserves every accolade it will undoubtedly receive. Lastly, for Alias fans, you'll especially love the two quiet reunions, nodding to Cooper's time on the series. Just...go see it.
