Review of A Star Is Born (1954) by Hollis G — 27 Aug 2008
An overwhelming film experience, purely for the once in a lifetime performance delivered by Judy Garland. The pinnacle of her film career, its a shame that she was not offerred anything as worthy after this effort.
When you watch her in this its heartbreaking to think what could have followed and how many performances she could have delivered of this calibre. Its a first rate dramatic performance. Her tremulous emotions and nearing the edge style are all too real.
A one woman show and an experience unto itself.
