Review of A Simple Plan (1998) by Natasha A — 04 Jan 2009
I have wanted to see this film since it's release 10 years ago, and we have finally crossed paths. Well worth the wait and the critical acclaim it received at it's time of release. An ironic title for a plan that goes further than badly wrong! Reminiscent of Fargo and Shallow Grave in genre, A Simple Plan is a great story with twists and turns from start to finish.
Billy Bob Thornton is outstanding, as are the ensemble cast. The film is gripping, intelligent, violent and often darkly humourous. A must see.
