Review of A Short Film About Killing (1988) by Phil S — 28 Aug 2007
Kieslowski's brutal, haunting and beautiful meditation on murder and, specifically, the death sentence. The narrative follows a hapless loner through the cold Polish streets up to a gritty murder and then onwards to his eventual execution.
It touches on things that one would often rather ignore and yet, throughout it's bleak landscape it never loses sight of humanity.
