Review of A Short Film About Killing (1988) by Arto K — 24 Jan 2009
A powerful statement against capital punishment that without a doubt makes a lot of people think. But the story lacks any real depth, since Kieslowski apparently wanted to present Jacek's crime as a completely senseless act of violence.
Thoroughly bleak and depressing, which actually gets a bit annoying - seriously, life doesn't suck that much in reality. It only does if you want it to.
