The Coen brothers, as always, are the true stars of their films. More than any of their other movies, A Serious Man delves into the idea of cosmic indifference - or even downright malevolence - as filtered through the lens of modern Jewish culture.
And it does so with the understated and slightly deranged Coen humor we have all come to love.
