Review of A Serious Man (2009) by Filipe C — 09 Apr 2018
The epitome of the Coen's life philosophy, A Serious Man is perhaps their most understated, yet most accomplished film. The brothers' typically existentialist and nihilistic writing really comes through in the story of a passive man with a passive past who's thrown into a world of disarray.
What follows is a cunning satire to the jewish faith and people's inability to change/learn from their circumstances.
