Review of A Serious Man (2009) by Aaron U — 18 Mar 2011
I'm a big fan of the Cohens and when the critics praised their new film as "the Cohens back to form", I couldn't help but meeting this film with some anticipation. But it never got going.
We just follow this miserable man not being able to take control of anything in his life. He has these bizarre dreams, and I was wishing every time that this was the film taking a sudden turn, but alas, one minute later we were back.
Maybe, this being the most "Jewish" of all their films - very reminscent og Allen films, actually - I missed out of some of the humour. I don't know.
