I'm not sure if I saw a full, unedited version. Most of the most horrific stuff is suggested (strongly) but not shown directly. I'm left with a nest of ambiguous and contradictory feelings/ideas.

Is it a violent freak-show of sexual perversion? Yep. Is it also a film, maybe, about Serbian history, the nexus of art & pornography, and the amorality of the artistic process? Yeah, I think it's those things, too.

But the faint-of-heart, the easily shocked, should avoid. You've been warned!
