Review of A Serbian Film (2010) by Gemma T — 11 Mar 2011
I wouldn't say it is an "art" film (people call this film art because it uses porn as a metaphor) and I would quickly say that the whole political side of the film will not shine through unless you know a bit about Serbia's government policies, so it may come across as a snuff.
I have to say though that IT IS NOT one of the most disturbing films out there BUT it is raw, dark and extremely violent. I admit I skipped one off the wall scene featuring a baby. But apart from that it is a very interesting film.
Watch with caution and don't be fooled by the hype.
