Grim, dark and disturbing as all hell, but artistic and thoughtful at the same time. Many seem inclined to place this in the torture porn subgenre, but I am reluctant to do so. Torture porn flicks, like the Saw movies, aim at grossing the viewer out or inducing a "so glad it's not happening to me" mindset.
A Serbian Film does something entirely different, attacking you psycically and crossing borders that even the torture flicks would not dare approach. Like many, though, I both admire and hate this movie.
Glad to have seen it, but I will probably never watch it again.
