Review of A Scanner Darkly (2006) by Blake D — 23 Jun 2010
Intrusive pulp fiction rendering futuristic lives of hopeless addicts. Richard Linklater's adaptation of Philip K. Dick's novel is an explosive, hilarious, painful, moronic, mind-bending, brilliant, beautiful warning trapped in the form of one of the greatest films I've seen in many a year.
A Scanner Darkly is black as night, never letting up, not even for air. Sweet, crisp air.
