Review of A Scanner Darkly (2006) by Jared L — 09 May 2011
Animation fit in with Bob Arctor's failing perception of the real world. Great cast, great dialogue, great ending. To dislike the movie was to be distracted with it's appearance. Movies have gone down the toilet these days because nobody cares about the story anymore, just the appearance.
It does not help that all the critics make up their minds five minutes into the movie. Hollywood is not to blame for the degradation of quality these days, it's the ignorant critics. Please, don't take "watch the movie" literally, actually listen.
If people listened then they'd realize this is a very good and emotional story about a man being manipulated into becoming a drug addict. I suggest the critics who didn't like this to be fired and punished to watch "Little Fockers" everyday for the rest of their lives.
