Review of A Room with a View (1986) by Anton K — 18 Jan 2009
I failed this test on my Britishness. I did not really enjoy the film, in fact, I was quite annoyed by the "videocamera" style of shooting, it didn't give the impression of a film, I found the main actors - Carter and Sands - playing not good enough (in other words, I didn't notice their love burning inside), it was quite different from a book vision that was given to me.
And, at the end, I found this film a bit too theatrical, as if I was watching a play. It works for theatre, but not for a film.
