Review of A Room with a View (1986) by Simon D — 24 Feb 2010
For every decent gritty english drama about the working classes there is, unfortunately, a pompus pile of shite about the upper classes. There is a large group of middle aged women in England who love costume dramas, regardless of the fact that they all follow the same storyline: posh brat falls in love with some posh bloke, then falls for a different one and ends up going with the one that you're supposed to like.
Everything else is toffee nosed padding and as long as there is a costume involved everyone's happy, except Callow who even got his scene frollocking in the nod with young lads, probably instead of a paycheck.
