Review of A Room for Romeo Brass (1999) by Neil B — 12 Jul 2008
It's probably an unfair comment, but this is not even close to being as accomplished as later films such as 'Dead Mans Shoes' and 'This is England'. However, it does show what a promising, developing talent Meadows was at that point in time in contrast to the invaluable exponent of British cinema he has become.
Paddy Considine's portrayal of the emotionally unstable Morrell is what truly makes this film and colours what - as an overall story - is pretty dull stuff.
