Review of A River Runs Through It (1992) by Cameron J — 30 Mar 2011
On top of being moderately slow, weakly developed and with underused characters and a touch down-putting of an ending, the film suffers from a narrative that is overused in the development segment, only to be underused as the film reaches its body.
This, of course, causes the narrative to be forced in its exits and entrances. However, compellingness, good casting, fine writing, beautiful cenimatography and strong performances really boost the film.
Ultimately, the major inconsistancies make "A River Runs Through It" go by far too fast and keep it from being as solid as it could be. Still, that's not to say that the pros really do make it worth the watch.
