Review of A River Runs Through It (1992) by Sol C — 01 Mar 2008
The film itself in terms of set and cinematography is amazing enough to make you watch, but honestly for me the character development and sublty of dialogue kept me engaged. I often find myself watching foreign films because there is just less talking, but more important words being said, and this movie has it! No need for too much explanation, no long montages to clarify (think Brokeback Mountain for a current reference), the dialogue is concise and commited.
Overall, the film has real integrity and is just a pleasure to watch.
