Review of A Return to Salem's Lot (1987) by Jason C — 17 Feb 2008
A Return to Salem's Lot has an interesting concept. An anthropologist and his son arrive in town to find a colony of vampires who want their story written down. Unfortunately the low budget, the extremely bad acting, and the poor dialogue make this a very difficult movie to watch.
Cohen insults fans of Salem's Lot by making no reference whatsoever to any of the characters in the original movie. It's as if this is set in a different town with the same name. Also, the vampires are some of the worst looking that I have ever seen.
There is nothing scary about this film, and I doubt that even die-hard fans of the original would enjoy this movie.
