Review of A Quiet Place (2018) by Dae J — 18 Apr 2018
I'm not a horror movie fan and don't go out of my way to watch them (I can also give you a psychological reason why ??). That being said, I heard many great things about this movie so I got curious & had to check it out. So here's my verdict. For those who likes & enjoy horror thriller will have good time in the theater and for those who isn't into horror thriller genre, I think Netflix or rental sounds feasible idea.
It's well made movie. Actings pretty good, you do understand & feel for this family. Visuall & special effects on certain things are pretty good for this low budget horror movie. And this movie reminded me a lot of '10 Cloverfield Lane', that came out couple years ago. So for those who dig that movie, will enjoy this.
I don't know if I want to say a flaw but if you go to the movies a lot (or understand the story structure) and figure things out while watching the movie, just turn off your brain for a bit & enjoy the ride. Then afterwards, you can critic or confess the love of this movie. It helps, really????.
P.S. I hope that whoever your audience is, will behave as the silence of the movie is very important for this one. I had in the audience who sounded like a little kid (who shouldn't be watching this ??????) making noises in the beginning but luckily, he or she shut up as the movie progress. So do whatever you have to, not to make any noises...???? For the sake of others!!
