Review of A Quiet Place (2018) by Benskylerhill — 08 Apr 2018
By far the best film of the year. My new favorite horror. This is no ordinary horror film. It perfectly balances elements of sheer terror, bleak familial tensions, and heartwarming redemption and sacrifice.
The performances are absolutely phenomenal. Even the child actors are great. Emily Blunt steals the show as she and real-life husband John Krasinski truly emulate the amount of love and dedication parents feel for their children.
The scares are effective, the thrills keep coming, and it never loses touch with its heart. It left me in tears at its most moving, genuine parts. John Krasinski, I hope to se more directorial efforts like this from you very soon.
