Firstly, the trailers will immediately draw your attention, effectively sparking interest by highlighting the intensity of the premise without diving into heaps of detail (Something movies surprisingly fail to achieve a lot of the time nowadays by revealing half the plot).

Conceptually, ‘A Quiet Place’ is an interesting and suspenseful horror/thriller ultimately grounded in family and surviving in silence. The execution is quality, including young breakthrough performances, in addition to equally impressive yet expected acting by Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, formulating an intensely encapsulating experience from beginning to end, ironically stunning you yourself into silence.

The title literally emulates the atmosphere of the cinema throughout the entirety of the movie. The journey you feel you embark on with the family is a gruelling, relentlessly nail-biting and powerfully emotional one, epitomised by the calibre of acting, directing, background music/effects and writing (However, does not fail in providing the odd classic jump-scare).

The daunting post-apocalyptic world suppresses emotional expressiveness yet is immensely and traumatically captured and communicated.The movie does create countless open-ended questions leaving you to ponder throughout the rest of your day if you are subsequently invested in the story and premise in addition to some progressively answered questions.

Evidently, a few minute details are a topic of conversation, with certain uncertainties and gripes being plausible, however, fail to take away from the successful magnitude of the suspense and story. Despite mostly avoiding the horror/thriller genre, the movie cleverly rejuvenates a sense of true terror alongside the heart of the movie; family.

Exhibiting how the family operate and survive is fascinating and watching the collective and individual adaptations to a turn of events is equally enthralling. ‘A Quiet Place’ deserves the continuous praise and I am sure there is much more to come.

Highly recommendable (Even for those who typically refrain from horror/thriller). Prepare yourself for an unpredictable, perilous and emotionally wavering joyride till the very end.
