Horror movies are like hot sauce or salsa; a lot of them are bad because they forsake real flavor just for the sake of being hot, just like how a lot of horror movies forsake plot or meaning just for the sake of being scary, and what results is a sucky movie. A Quiet Place is different; this movie is like a mango salsa (I like mango salsa, sue me). It has different focuses and points and meanings and doesn't focus on just being a scary movie; the horror is a vehicle to convey a message, and the message adds the depth to the horror. It's horrific because there is so much on the line, not just because "Ahh, scary!".
