Review of A Quiet Place (2016) by David H — 05 May 2018

HYPE ALERT! HYPE ALERT! This is an incredibly average monster movie that's being hyped to the skies because it has...wait for it...a GIMMICK! Otherwise, the film is dreadfully slow throughout most of it, with dull characters and a monster that risked being upstaged by a silo full of corn. The eventual discovery of the monster's "live by the sword" weakness made it hard to believe that no one had thought of it before. The film also liberally broke its own rules and even had parts of its own setup that made no sense (if the monster attacks sound, then who was running the notoriously noisy printing presses during the height of the attack?).

I was not impressed and think this film is way overrated.
