A Quiet Passion is, I am sorry to say, a truly boring film. Yes, Emily's life was tragic, and she was a genius. But boy does this film drag. Hence the massive gulf between the high critics' rating and the low audience score.
Towards the end, I just wanted Emily to die quickly so I could leave the cinema.
