Review of A Place in the Sun (1951) by Mariko L — 05 Feb 2008
Could be trite, but it isn't. George Stevens' true masterpiece - Shelley Winters takes you from sympathy to irritation to the audience wanting her to die for the sake of the romance between Montgomery Clift (whose performance endears the character, despite his flaws), and Elizabeth Taylor (at seventeen, truly the most beautiful woman to have ever graced the screen).
And it all comes together in my most favourite film OF ALL TIME.
