Review of A Place in the Sun (1951) by Yoon N — 04 Jul 2008
There is something about this movie I can't really explain. it is again one of those movies I saw when I was little and can't forget. sunset boulevard was one fo them, too. wait, the great gatsby too.
something about 'willy lowman,' the american everyday/tragic hero, albeit the characters in the movies I mentioned are way younger. usually they arrive after a long drive or dreadful ride on a dusty road, then there is that golden shot--the close up to the face and the blurry background they are about to walk away from.
