Review of A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence (2014) by Amanda C — 12 Jul 2015
An off beat surrealist comedy, A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence is all at once mesmerizing, facinating and slightly tedious, which is it's charm. Loosely structured around two humourless salesmen selling novelty joke items, A Pigeon Sat on a Branch presents a series of vignettes that exist independently of each other, but combine to comment on the mundane and horrific daily occurances that create existence.
It is a film that stays with you long after you've left the theatre and is completely open to interpretation which makes it constantly changing and shifting as you reflect. And isn't that kind of the point of both film and existence?
