Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989) by Ken S — 28 Oct 2011
I think the producers of the Nightmare on Elm Street series overreached a bit when making "The Dream Child". It attempts to build a little on the extra backstory that Freddy is the product of 100 inmates of an insane asylum raping and impregnating his mother (because burned alive child murderer turned dream demon wasn't enough backstory).
Unfortunately all the new plot points are confusing...and while some of the imagery is cool and one or two kills are decent...the confusing mess of a plot and silly Freddy baby puppet (and the worst kill ever as Freddy shreds a piece of paper to death) make it far less enjoyable for the most part.
