Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989) by Adrian Z — 07 Mar 2013
The template is becoming repetitive, with little to set this apart from its immediate predecessor plot-wise, but part 5 is more than ever buoyed by a terrific a performance from Englund as Krueger, expertly embodying horror and comedy.
As always for this series, expect dynamic editing and slick cinematography, and imaginative special effects, perhaps even more so than other installments considering highlights such as the surreal human-motorcycle hybrid, eat-til-you-burst girl, and the comic book styled slaying of one of the characters.
It's almost like a live action cartoon at times.
