Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) by Jason F — 04 Jan 2009
Replace Arquette's character with some chick no one knows about. Kill off the remaining character's from the 3rd film. And randomly resurrect the bady.
While this movie didn't suck in the way any of the Friday the 13th films did, it sure had a feel very close to it. New cast, same horror points, yadda yadda. The acting is better than most slasher films, except Elm street 1 and 3. And everything else is just average, I guess.
I'm not even sure these are slasher films, but horror/sci-fi/fantasy. People have magic powers all of a sudden and you can wish yourself into someones dream, I guess. I still don't understand how Freddy transports you from your dream into his world... or whatever the fuck he does. One minute he's invading your dream, the next your in his? I guess you're not supposed to think on it. All I can hope for next is that they don't start introducing wizards in the next one... oh wait... they already fucking did before.
